Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM (I9300XXUFME3) for the Samsung Galaxy S III has been leaked and is available for download. Geeks at SamMobile have gotten a hold of lastest firmware of Jelly bean claiming that the Galaxy S3 phone is on track to get the 4.2.2 firmware and the company will release the official software update in June.

The screen shots and video of the software build running on the beastly smartphone shows the latest features and UI you’ll get after you install it.

We’re getting close to the official launch of the Galaxy S4 mini. Just last weekend we caught a glimpse of the upcoming Galaxy S4 mini in the form of some leaked photos, and now a new leak today tips that the phone will run on the 1.6 GhZ dual-Core Exynos 5210 chip, a big.LITTLE architecture that essentially combines power efficient Cortex A7 cores with Cortex A15.

Leaks in past few weeks have offered pretty much every bit of detail that people would be interested in about Galaxy S4 mini. Here’s the feature list you’ve been waiting for – all in an organized fashion.

Display: 4.3 inch, qHD Super AMOLED display (550×960 at 256ppi).

CPU: 1.6GHz, Dual-core (Exynos 5210)

RAM: 1GB (3G), 2G (LTE)

Connectivity: WiFi b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI

Camera: 8MP (main), LED flash, 720P HD capture, 2 megapixel (front) for video calls

Memory: 32GB (expandable via microSD card)

Battery: 2100 mAh

Android: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s own TouchWiz NatureUX 2.0 interface.

As for a release date, that wasn’t included in the leaked document from Samsung and Korea Investment & Securities, but it has been rumored that Galaxy S4 mini is ready to make a launch announcement some time next month in June.

Samsung is trying hard to enhance its presence in the mid-range Android smartphone segment, by leveraging the increased sales gained from its flagship model, the Galaxy S4. But will Galaxy S4 mini stands apart from the rest on design? Do you think Samsung will be able to ship tens of millions of units worldwide? Share your opinion in the comment section below.

HTC mobiles are apparently locked with bootloader when they are introduced into the market. Even the recently launched HTC One was shipped with the bootloader locked, which prevents booting kernel and system images not signed by authorized parties – HTC or carrier such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Devices with locked bootloader only boots the stock OS.

There is one big reason because of which most of the companies, including HTC, does not ship their phones with bootloader unlocked – it protects you from malicious software. But if you are an advanced user with good knowledge of the risks involved, you can follow step by step instruction on how to unlock the bootloader on the HTC One. This allows you to be about to install custom recoveries and customer ROMs with ease. You can then gain root access to your device.

Things to Remember:

There are various points which you must be aware of before you decide to go ahead unlocking bootloader of your shiny new HTC One android phone.

Unlocking the boot loader will not provide you with the root access. Instead you have to flash a custom ROM with root access thereafter.

Unlocking your bootloader does not mean that you will be able to unlock the SIM lock.

Certain functions might not work as intended, and in worst scenario, you might end up damaging your device permanently. For example, if you flash an unstable OS, the device may be damaged physically due to overheating.

While unlocking the boot loader, certain content on your device may not be accessible due to the removal of the secure user data partition.

During the process, Android wipes all data on your device. The SD card of your device will be formatted and you will lose all content (for example photos, music, videos). We advise you to create backups.

You will not receive any official Android software upgrades if you unlock your device.

You may void the warranty of your device and/or any warranty from your network operator if you unlock the boot loader.

Unlocking the boot loader is an irreversible process and you will not be able to revert your HTC One device to a locked state.

How to Unlock HTC One Bootloader

If you understand the consequences both to your phone and about the warranty it carries, then you may follow the process below and begin to unlock your HTC One phone. The method is fairly straightforward.

Pre-requisites:

Download and install the HTC Sync Manager, if you haven’t already done so.

Download Fastboot zip (http://filecloud.io/h4b25wun) and extract it to your desktop. Make sure it contains 4 files.

Disable all the antivirus applications running on your PC in order to avoid any incompatibility issues arising during the process of unlocking HTC One Bootloader.

Instructions:

Step 1: Visit HTCdev.com, Register and login with your HTC account

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Unlock Bootloader‘ page.

Step 3: Under the drop-down devices list, select ‘All Other Supported Models’ and then click ‘Begin Unlock Bootloader’.

Step 4: A pop-up window will ask whether you want to unlock the bootloader or not? Just click ‘Yes’, accept all the legal terms and tap ‘Proceed to Unlock Instructions’ option.

Step 5: Follow the on-screen instructions mentioned on the site

Power off your HTC One smartphone and make sure that it is not connected to the PC via USB.

Press and hold ‘volume down’ and ‘power’ buttons until the phone starts into Bootloader Mode.

Step 6: Select the ‘Fastboot’ option and then connect your HTC One device to the PC via USB.

Step 7: Navigate to the second HTCdev web page by clicking the Proceed to Step 5 button.

Step 8: Now, go to the ‘Fastboot’ folder and press and hold SHIFT key, while at the same time you right-click on the white space of the Fastboot folder. Select ‘open command window here’ option from the context menu.

Step 9: After the Windows Command Prompt window opens, enter the following command line: fastboot devices

If your HTC One device is detected then you are good to go to the next step. Else, re-install the HTC Sync Manager and reboot your computer. You will then need to start all over again. Huh!

Step 10: Navigate to the third HTCdev web page by tapping the Proceed to Step 8 button. At this point of time, don’t close the command prompt window.

Step 11: Follow all the steps mentioned on HTCdev’s third page and click SUBMIT when all of them are completed successfully.

You should now see an alert saying ‘Token Submitted Successfully!’. This means that an email containing the Unlock Key has been sent to you by HTCDev.

Step 12: Open the email message from HTC that you must have received by now. Download the attached ‘Unlock_code.bin’ file and place it in the Fastboot folder. (The folder should now hold 5 files).

Step 13: Navigate back to the Command Prompt window and enter the following lines:
- fasboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

Now, your HTC One phone will get a request to Unlock Bootloader. Just tap the Volume Up button and select YES. Press Power button to confirm.

Step 14: Your HTC One will now reboot. Disconnect it from PC.

At this point, the bootloader unlocks, and the user may use fastboot to flash custom kernel and system images that have not been signed by HTC or the carrier. You can also follow the HTC One Bootloader Unlock video guide if you find any difficulty following the instructions.

Now that we’ve got Galaxy S4, naturally, the next thing we want to see is its miniature model. Today, a flurry of images of what looks to be a Galaxy S4 mini has leaked into the wild. It’s allegedly the same device we reported few weeks back and gives us a fairly good idea of what the Samsung’s big runners this summer will look like.

According to the past leaked specs we’re looking at a handset with a 4.3 inch qHD display (960 x 540 pixels at 256ppi) – most likely a Super AMOLED screen, dual-core processor, a front-facing 2 megapixel camera for a video chat, and a eight-megapixel rear camera capable of shooting 720p video including a removable battery. The Galaxy S4 mini will launch on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the Samsung’s own TouchWiz NatureUX 2.0 interface.

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is expected to arrive in two colour schemes – Black Mist and White Frost will be retailing in two models; one with dual-SIM and one without dual SIM. The Dual-SIM variant (GT-i9192) will feature a dual-core processor whilst the HSPA+ Variant (GT-I9190) variant is rumored to run on a Quad-Core processor.

Whether or not these photos shows the actual S4 mini, it’s certainly what we’re expecting the next flagship Galaxy phone to look like — it is similar to full-sized Galaxy S4, after all. We’re expecting to see the Galaxy S4 mini along with Galaxy S4 Zoom from Samsung later this month, so stay tuned – we’ll be bringing you full coverage.

Prior launching iPhone on its network, T-Mobile rolled out a carrier update on unlocked iPhone 5 to enable LTE, improve battery performance in addition to visual voice mail support. But after installing the update, some T-Mobile iPhone 5 users reported that the update has resulted in slower download speeds.

TmoNews now reports that two hackers, @joe012594 and @cooldayr2, have fixed the issue by modified the carrier update to “increase the amount of bandwidth allowing for better throughput of data and data connection”.

Per hackers, the back door trick they are using, enables the R9 DC-HSPA+ allowing for faster cellular data speed on iPhone 5 device. Hackers have noticed the average increase in speed from 3mbps to 8mbps on the downlink. Users who have experienced degraded signal on the PCS and/or AWS bands, can install this patched carrier update in order to fix the issue.

The cellular programmers have internally modified the settings to help the 4G signal perform a bit better, whether you’re iPhone 5 is PCS only or dual PCS/AWS. For those with an iPhone 5 that supports AWS, with modified update installed, it will connect to the strongest tower (PCS and AWS) rather than the preferred type of tower.

You must be wondering whether the hack requires a jailbroken iOS phone or not? Well, the method listed below ‘actually’ doesn’t require iPhone to be jailbroken, but the instruction set is different for jailbroken iPhone 5. We strongly advice you to take a full backup of your iPhone prior to installing the hacked carrier update.

After you install the patched carrier update, you will be able to download apps and browse the web much faster than before. On an average, you’ll get 200%+ speed improvement and in some cases, the download speed is almost doubled.

I tried this, running Speedtest.net’s app multiple times over the course of 5 minutes before and after the change and averaged an improvement of over 200% upload and download. The internet now seems feeling snappier and more responsive. I even checked my battery and can confirm that it doesn’t drain any differently that I can see. If it does, for some, it should not stop you using those sweet, sweet LTE speeds.

Important Since it is an unofficial way to modify download speed, T-Mobile could potentially shut down the loophole very soon if it has reason to.

Instructions for Non-jailbroken iPhone 5 Users:

Step 1: Connect your iPhone 5 into iTunes and backup the device.

Step 2: Tap the Settings app and navigate to General >Reset > Reset Network Settings. Your iPhone will now auto reboot.

Step 3: Download the patched carrier update from here. http://www.4shared.com/file/WF0uqJL-/TMobile_US_iPhone_Hack.html

Step 4: After you download it, your iPhone will boot up into iTunes. You must now decline any and all prompts to update carrier settings and then enable iTunes to except custom carrier bundles.

Step 5: Windows users, you will need to open command prompt and type the following. The commands are different for Windows (32 bit or 64 bit) and Mac.

64 bit:

Type cd C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and press enter.

Type iTunes.exe/setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 and press enter.

32 bit:

Type cd C:\Program Files\iTunes and press enter.

Type iTunes.exe /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 and press enter.

Mac users need to open terminal and type the following command and press enter:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool true

Step 6: Now click on the tab for your iPhone 5 and click “Update” or “Check For Update” while holding down the Alt / Option key for Mac users and the Shift key for Windows users. Now navigate to the hacked carrier update file you download recently named TMobile_US_iPhone.ipcc and select it and then click Open.

Step 7: After the carrier update is successfully installed, reboot your iPhone 5 in order to complete the process.

Step 6: In case you are facing any instability or issue you can repeat the steps by installing the default carrier update file instead. You can download the default file by visiting this URL. http://www.4shared.com/file/M3vMO7Pe/TMobile_US_iPhone_Default.html

Instructions for jailbroken iPhone 5 Users:

Step 1: Download the patched file through iFile by visiting this URL: http://www.4shared.com/zip/OF1KKmyt/TMobile_US_iPhone_Hack.html

Step 2: Extract the compressed file and copy the file name “overrides_N41_N42.pri” then navigate to var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles/TMobile_US.bundle and paste it into the folder replacing the original .pri file.

Step 3: Reboot your iPhone to complete the process.

Step 4: In case you are facing any instability or issue you can repeat the steps by installing the default carrier update file instead. You can download the default file by visiting this URL. The default file is different for both jailbroken and no-jailbroken iPhone users. http://www.4shared.com/zip/zoXpN_ce/TMobile_US_iPhone_Default.html

Enjoy the speed boost! To confirm, jump into Speedtest to check out the difference. I am sure, download speeds as well as upload rates will get exploded. Notice the difference in speed prior to May 10th.

Disclaimer: The instructions aforementioned are for developers and advanced iPhone users who know what to do. Do it at your own risk and I am not responsible to any problem due to this modification or hacking.

You can customize your iOS device with a countless number of cydia apps, and tweaks available, sky’s the limit. If you’re new to jailbreak community, we’ve compiled a list of essential apps and tweaks that will add power to your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. In this roundup, we’ll take a look at 10 best Cydia apps designed to take advantage of jailbreak. All of these Cydia apps should work in on iOS 5.x, iOS 6.0, and iOS 6.1 and above.

You might find these jailbreak apps quite worthwhile if you want to set more options with the home button, changing themes, adding multitasking gestures to the iPhone, supercharging the lock screen, tethering iPhone without paying carriers’ monthly fees or do any of tons of other things that you couldn’t otherwise accomplish.

Messagebox

Facebook Home for Android made a grand debut few weeks back introducing various new features including Chat Heads. If you’re unaware, ‘Chat Heads’ are small bubbles for individual conversations that float around the screen but Facebook released the feature only for Android community.

Well thanks to great jailbreak community! Facebook Chat Heads can now be activated easily all throughout iOS.

A new Cydia tweak called ‘Message Box’ inherits the Chat Heads feature that’s available in the Facebook app and set it on your jailbroken iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. After installing Message Box on your device, by default, the Chat Heads is placed on top of any app but you can position it anywhere by dragging it. To dismiss it or toss it away, just drag it towards the bottom of the screen.

Message Box only works when the Facebook app is running in the background and you device is jailbroken on iOS 6 or higher. Message Box is available in the BigBoss repository for free.

Springtomize 2

Developed by Filippo Bigarella, it is one of the most feature rich applications available for jailbroken iPhone, iPad and iPod touch till date. It helps you to customize every aspect of the iOS such as changing stock icons, removing the page limits, folders, system-wide animations, app switcher, dock, hiding icons of stock apps, resizing icons, removing the battery icon from the status bar and plenty of other nice options too.

Essentially it is an amalgamation of hundreds of Cydia tweaks. Springtomize 2.0 allows you to customize your lock screen too. You can do pretty neat things like displaying Seconds in yours stock clock, or changing the ‘Slide to Unlock’ string to anything you like.

As long as I’ve been jailbreaking my iPhone, Springtomize 2 has been the first thing I install. It has already been scaled to support the latest iOS devices including the iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.

Springtomize 2 is priced at $2.99, and it’s available via Cydia’s BigBoss repository. I highly recommend you give Springtomize 2 a try, for you won’t regret it.

IntelliscreenX 6

IntelliScreenX tweak will add few muscles to your existing notification center and will make it even more streamlined. The tweak lets you read the full email and provide access to all calendar entries directly within NotificationCenter from the lock screen.

With IntelliScreenX, you can keep an eye on all of the latest news from your favorite sites right from the NotificationCenter. You can access Twitter timeline, RSS feeds or Facebook feed from anywhere in the iOS using the NotificationCenter. It also adds useful icons in the status bar for unread text message or email, SMS, phone calls, and when your device is in Silent Mode. There are tons of other features too.

If you’re new user, you have to shell out $9.99 on Cydia store for IntelliScreenX 6. Existing users (purchased before December 1st 2012) have to pay US$4.99 to upgrade to the version supporting iOS 6 and iPhone 5 taller display. For rest of the users, the update comes free of cost.

MyWi 6

MyWi 6 turns your iPhone or iPad into a Wi-Fi hotspot with a tap of a finger without your carrier’s permission. This allows your iPhone to be connected to a WiFi hotspot, and share the internet connection to other devices. For instance, you can easily connect your laptop or other mobile device to your iPhone or iPad using your iPhone or iPad’s data connection. MyWi 6 work with all jailbroken iPhones (including 2G/3G (MyWi 5.0 only) and 3GS/4/4S) and iPad/iPad 2 on 3.1.2 or later. More information can be found here.

MyWi 6, which is considered as one of the best jailbreak iPhone app, is available for $19.99 in Cydia, but existing owners can upgrade to MyWi 6 for just $4.99.

Messages+

Messages+ is a little handy tweak that allows you to compose or reply to text messages from anywhere in the iOS. Messages+ is available in Cydia for $7.99, however owners of IntelliScreenX get this tweak for free, as Messages+ is actually integrated right into the IntelliScreenX’s interface.

Open SSH

This is the first app which you ‘MUST’ install as soon as you jailbreak your iOS device. OpenSSH tweak effortlessly connects your iPhone and computer wirelessly over WiFi and lets you manage your iPhone and edit its system files. It allows you to run system administration tasks from anywhere.

OpenSSH client can be installed via installer or Cydia. Tap on Cydia icon available on SpringBoard, it will then prompt you to select between ‘Hacker’ and ‘User’. Select ‘Hacker’ and then the settings will load automatically. Now, on the search tab, type in “Open SSH” and install Open SSH.

iFile

iFile is the best File Explorer for jailbroken iPhone and iPad. You can explore all of iOS’ file systems and take control of your jailbroken device. It allows you to install software packages, create directories, change file permissions, rename, copy, move, and delete files. It also allows you to manage applications (install, uninstall, backup, and more). And, since you can access all files as system, there’s no reason to have a second file manager on your iPhone.

Its minimalism also makes it a bit more user friendly since it doesn’t have nearly as many options to confuse more basic users. This is one of my favorite file manager resting on my iPhone since three years. If you use something else, though, be sure to tell us what and why in the comments.

PKG Backup

This jailbreak app automatically backups all your jailbreak apps and tweaks, preferences files, Springboard files including App Store data in just few clicks. It is important to note that PKGBackup is an iPhone app which runs on the iPad in compatibility mode. Meaning, when you open the app for backup on iPad, the application will not utilize the full iPad screen. The app is tightly integrated with DropBox. Here’s the step by step process on how to use PKGBackup jailbreak app.

PKGBackup cydia app can be installed by paying US$9.99 and if you update iOS and jailbreak a lot, it’s probably worth its weight in gold.

SBSettings

SBSettings is a powerful jailbreak application that moves the various toggle switches to your home screen that is instead buried deep under the Settings. The best part of the tweak is that you can invoke the toggle from anywhere. For example, you can turn off WiFi when you’re typing an SMS message or writing an email. Toggles for features such as WiFi, 3G, and cellular data and SSH are available at the tap of a finger.

CallBar

Whatever you’re doing on your iPhone – playing game, writing email or text message, you’ve to stop if you get a phone call. The call screen takes over the entire display forcing you to either take the call or reject it before you continue with whatever you were doing. Annoying? Isn’t?

Well, CallBar app fixes it by replacing the screen with an unobtrusive banner notification you get an incoming call. With CallBar installed, it will give you an option to answer, decline or dismiss the call from the banner notification. You can choose to send the call to voicemail as well. Check out the CallBar video demo before you decide to buy.

CallBar jailbreak app is available under the BigBoss repository for $3.99 in Cydia store.

Deck

Deck jailbreak app offers a whole new way to use a core feature of iOS that are otherwise buried deep inside settings.app in addition to quick application access. It adds a stylish bar beside the bezel your jailbroken iPhone’s SpringBoard and allows you to access Settings toggles and apps with ease.

With Deck installed, you can pin commonly used apps or actions using a simple and cleaner side bar that’s accessible by swiping. You can also setup custom actions and Deck preferences via Settings.app. Some of the features of Deck are:

Adding shortcuts such as respring, reboot, power down, and lock the device

Quickly compose text messages, e-mails, tweets

Toggle the flashlight

Launch a music application of your choice (Music, Pandora, Spotify)

Launch App Switcher, Spotlight, NotificationCenter, Siri, Camera, and Wallpaper Settings

Toggle Location Services, Wi-Fi, Airplane Mode, Bluetooth, Mute, and 3G (or “4G”) cellular data

Create up to six application shortcuts

Quickly upload text to Pastie

Developed by SBCoders, Deck is arguably a far superior alternative to the SBSettings tweak. It is available on Cydia’s ModMyi repo for $1.99.

Auto App Updater

As the name suggests, you can configure option under your settings.app to automatically install app updates at pre-defined timed intervals in the background. When the application updates are completed, it sends you a notification saying how many updates were installed along with the update history. In case you want to stop a specific app to be updated, you can do so by blacklisting it. Auto App Updater is available for download under Modmyi Repository for $2.99 only.

Activator:

It is a system-wide jailbreak tweak that allows you to launch any of your installed applications using any of the gestures and system actions that Activator supports. Following are few of ways to customize Activator:

Home Button, Sleep Button, Status Bar – double tap, short hold

Motion – shake and bake

Slide in Gesture (from the bottom of the screen) – bottom-left, bottom, bottom-right

Volume Buttons – display tap, down and then up, up and then down

System actions available within Activator includes Home button press, Power down, Reboot, Respring, Safe Mode, Sleep Button, Spotlight

If you want to launch the music controls with a pinch gesture on your Springboard, you can do so with ease using Activator. Without Activator, many other cydia tweaks would not be able to work. For example, the swiping across the top of the screen action used by SBSettings is via Activator. Similarly, you can activate Overboard and ProSwitcher app by setting up a short hold of the home button or a swipe from the bottom to activate or any other action of your choice.

With Activator installed, the app does not add any icon in the iOS springboard but instead sits in the background offering a slew of options.

Ryan Petrich, who has developed many popular jailbreak tweaks on Cydia, is the creative brainchild behind Activator.

MiniPlayer 2.0

@Surenix, developer behind MiniPlayer jailbreak tweak has pushed a new version which supports the latest iOS 6.1.x and fancies a new graphic design. You can access MiniPlayer from anywhere on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch display screen even while you are reading emails or texting friends or browsing internet.

The second version of MiniPlayer is packed with fast and fluid animations allowing you to move it anywhere on the screen with ease. As soon as you tap the album artwork, it brings up whichever app is currently playing music, and tapping the metadata of the song brings up playback controls. MiniPlayer has a few settings that allow you to hide it on the lock screen by triggering an Activator action. Here is MiniPlayer 2.0 video in action.

MiniPlayer 2.0 tweak is a great addition to the jailbroken app arena and if you’re not afraid of jailbreaking your device, this is one application you should really consider installing. It is available for download under BigBoss repository for $1.99 only.

Zephyr

Zephyr is a killer jailbreak application which adds awesome multitasking gestures to your iPhone and iPad. With Zephyr app installed, just swipe up from the bottom of the screen to close apps and if you’re looking to switch between apps simply by swiping left or right from the edge. Swiping up will invoke an app switcher and swiping down on the status bar will open the Notifications and widgets.

Zephyr has received a lot of appreciation from the jailbreak community and the developer chpwn too pushes new features now and then in addition of providing support to the latest iOS. Most recently, a new feature was added with an ability to blacklist select apps and set custom finger swipes for each gesture.

The finger swipe and app blacklist features make it an essential download for jailbroken devices. Zephyr can be purchased in Cydia from the BigBoss repo for $2.99 only.

Auxo

If you’re not a fan of inbuilt iOS app switcher, you should consider installing Auxo on your jailbroken device. Once downloaded and installed, Auxo replaces the app icons in the app switcher with a card-like screenshot of the current state of the app. You can even remove more than one app by using multiple fingers. In case you want to remove all your apps in one fell swoop, just tap and hold an app to invoke Auxo’s switcher prompt. Tap yes, and your switcher will do the rest of the job.

Auxo is often considered as the best app switcher replacement and is our favorite jailbreak tweak too. As of today, it support only iPhone device but the tweak will soon be updated and gain iPad compatibility as well. The updated version will bring redesign multitasking tray, with an option to customize the tweak including many other goodies.

ProTube Extension for YouTube (formerly ‘ProTube 2′)

ProTube Extension for YouTube adds many unique features to Google’s own YouTube application for iOS. Among these includes the ability to change the playback quality (from 240p to 1080p HD), downloading YouTube videos in any capacity (from 240p to 1080p HD), ad-blocker, AirPlay support, and much more. The best part of the tweak is its intuitive interface and the saved videos are displayed in a graphical interface with lots of additional information.

ProTube Extension for YouTube is compatible with both iOS 5 and iOS 6, and works on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. If you’re interested, visit the Cydia Store and search using app name. As of this minute, the effective jailbreak tweak can be downloaded for $1.99 via the BigBoss repository.

iCaughtU Pro

As the name suggest, iCaughtU Pro is one of the best jailbreak tweak developed for jailbreakers to recover their stolen iPhone with ease. The tweak packs loads of features which can be triggered using SMS commands.

If a thief or anyone tries to enter the wrong passcode, the app will take a picture with the front-facing camera and emails the photo along with information such as exact map location by email. You can also configure app and set it to take a rear camera photo and send to your secondary phone or to your email address. What If someone hack your passcode? Well you can then direct your iPhone camera to take photo of a person by using custom SMS command.

Just send a custom SMS text from any other phone (not necessarily iPhone), which then matches a command you set in the settings panel for iCaughtU Pro. Suppose, I configure an action and direct a front facing camera to take a photo when a SMS is received with text “clickphoto”, it will snap a photo of a person who has stolen your iPhone and will send to your phone as soon as I sent a text message “clickphoto”.

iCaughtU is free on Cydia, but a full license for iCaughtU Pro costs $2.5 and can be installed through BigBoss repository. Disabling this jailbreak tweak is merely a case of uninstalling the package from within the Cydia application. It’s as simple as that.

You can also try iGotYa, which is considered as an alternative and effective solution to this tweak.

CameraTweak and CameraTweak HD

CameraTweak adds tons of useful features to your stock camera app and makes your iPhone and iPad camera even more powerful. After you install the tweak on your jailbroken iPhone, you will find slew of new options which sits within the stock Camera app (not anywhere else). The app comes with a timer function, time lapse mode (can configure time lapse photography between 1 and 60 seconds or 1 and 60 minutes), white balance adjustment, exposure and focus settings, video frame rate and resolution options, and composition overlays.

CameraTweak HD packs various resolution settings: Low (3g transfer), Medium (wifi transfer), 352×288, 648×480 (VGA), 960×540, 1280×720 (720p HD), and 1920×1080 (full HD). While recording video, you can select from three different aspect ratios – 4:3, 16:9, and 2:35:1.

It is important to note that CameraTweak HD app currently supports iPad only. Both the tweaks can be downloaded from Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $0.99. There are various apps in Appstore which adds lots of muscles to your stock camera app without jailbreaking your device. Few of them are Camera+, 645 PRO, SloPro, and Better Camcorder. Check them out too before you decide to buy it.

Aforementioned is the list of 19 best jailbreak which I have installed on my jailbroken iPhone 5, iPad mini, iPad 2 and iPad 4 running iOS 6 and above. Which one jailbreak tweak do you think should make it to the top twenty list and why? Share it in the comment section below.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 (32GB US edition) costs $237 per unit, according to an actual teardown analysis conducted by the market intelligence firm IHS iSuppli. Without a contract subsidy, the entry-level Galaxy S4 16GB model costs $639 when sold by AT&T. The new cost figures represent an increase of between 15 percent and 18 percent, depending on the model, from the Galaxy S3, which iSuppli tore down last year.

The cost to build is 16 percent higher when compared with iPhone 5. Per IHS iSuppli teardown, conducted last fall, the base model of iPhone 5 16GB version costs $205 to build. Apparently, the iPhone 5 with 32 gigabytes costs $749 at an Apple store without contract. The S 4′s display is almost an inch larger than Apple’s iPhone 5, raising the Galaxy’s material costs, the report added.

The cost to build S4 is not far below the Bill of Materials (BOM) cost of the Galaxy Note tablet, which was evaluated to $270 per unit last year by IHS.

Samsung makes extensive use of its own internally manufactured parts such as display and touch-screen module, power management integrated circuit, SDRAM and flash memory in all of its smartphones. Even most of the components sourced for the Galaxy S4 are manufactured by its various internally owned subsidiaries.

Per HIS’ analysis, Samsung uses its production capabilities to manufacture at least $149 worth — or 63 percent — of the parts needed for the S4, with Intel and Broadcom supplying the rest.

IHS analyst Vincent Leung said: “Samsung’s strength is this ability to in-source to itself. They just keep adding to the list of components that they can supply to themselves”.

There are at least four different versions of the Galaxy S4 being manufactured, with two versions headed to the United States. US-bound Galaxy S4 packs a Fujitsu image processor that adds $1.50 to the cost of the phone, while the Korean version internally handles its image processing via Exynos processor. The display and touch screen are manufactured by Samsung and cost around $75, while the 32GB of on-board flash memory costs $28.

The international version of the Galaxy S4 runs an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa SoC on board that costs $28 per chip, whilst the US version, which features the Qualcomm-made Snapdragon chipset, carries an estimated cost of $20, according to information analyzed by IHS.

It is important to note that BOM (Bill of Materials) estimates consider the raw cost of materials, and do not include other costs such as assembly, shipping, packaging and related expenses such as advertising.

The IHS full report on the Galaxy S4 cost to construct is expected on May 9.

Rumors are flying left and right about the low-cost iPhone, but one thing is confirmed: the launch is near. Reuters now reporting that according to Pegatron, an Apple supplier, Tim Cook led company is actually developing a cheaper model of the iPhone to gain ground in India and China. And to fulfil surge in demand, Pegatron has planned to increase its number of workers in China from around 1 lakh to 1.4 lakh; i.e. by up to 40 percent. The hiring spree is an indication that the design is final and is ready for mass production.

When the publication reached out to one of the supplier source in Japan, he said small-scale production of the display panel for the budget iPhone would begin this month, ramping up to mass production in June.

Apple is expected to unveil the cheaper version of the iPhone model in Q3 and with Pegatron’s Chief Financial Officer Charles Lin virtually confirming that 60 percent of the company’s 2013 revenue would come from the second half, it appears both India and China will get plastic iPhone no later than September.

The new iPhone is targeted at cost-conscious consumers seeking a less pricey smartphone, something akin to the mid-level Galaxy S devices.

Not much is known about the cheaper iPhone except that it would pack a plastic casing and might rock up a 4-inch LTPS LCD panel. These high end LCD displays can achieve densities of 200 dpi and more and are apt to address the rapidly growing small-size high-end LCD display market.

The device is also rumored to run on an A6 processor with availability in different colors. Premium features such as fingerprint sensor may not be available to low-end iPhone customers.

Apple has requested US court to direct Google to handover the source code of its Android operating system, as a part of discovery process, to confirm whether or not its technology patents were infringed upon. Apple has sought Android source code in the second-patent infringement case it has filed at the San Jose court, Bloomberg reports.

As per the court filing, Tim Cook-led Company has argued that Android is used in all of Samsung’s allegedly infringing products and “provides much of the accused functionality”. Apple’s attorney Mark Lyons told U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal that Google is “improperly withholding information” data that it requested in the pre-trial information sharing stage. He said it’s a “question of transparency,” and his side has “concerns that they’re not doing a full search.”

In response, Google attorney Matthew Warren (representing Samsung) said that Apple made the “strategic decision” to keep Google off of the complaint filed, and as a third party to the law suit, Google doesn’t have the same legal rights as the Apple and Samsung in this case “with respect to reciprocal discovery”. He further argued that turning over the requested documents to Apple might lead to “future discovery that we don’t think they’re entitled to” and might give Apple “ideas about how to proceed that they wouldn’t have had.”

Earlier this year, the Korean giant Samsung asked court that it needs the iOS 6 source code to perform infringement analysis but Apple representatives countered furiously and denounced the demand as “insane”.

Both Samsung and Apple are already involved in more than 40 lawsuits stretching across four continents. One of the biggest judgements came last year, when a US jury concluded that Samsung has violated Apple patents and awarded the latter $1.05 billion in damages. U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh, later slashed the damages to $639.4 million, citing a minor error by Jury, and ordered a new trial in November to recalculate some of the owed damages.

The Nokia Team has shot the video in Adventureland in Farmingdale, New York by strapping all three smartphones to the front row of a 60ft high rollercoaster “The Hurricane”. Check out the video footage and decide which phone takes better video on this shake-filled and low-lit ride. The results appear to favor the Lumia 928 but we have to wait and see how it fares with Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 taking other parameters into consideration too. The accompanying title of the 928 video reads: New Nokia Lumia with PureView takes on “The Hurricane”.

The Nokia Lumia 928, which is codenamed as Laser, is widely expected to rock up with a 4.5 inch OLED display with a 1280 X 768 resolution, 720p HD recording, 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1 GB RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and a 8.7Mp camera with an f2.0 aperture which features Nokia’s PureView technology, Optical Image Stabilization and high-end Carl Zeiss lens. The USP of the device is its powerful camera with an ability of capturing excellent blur-free photos and videos in any conditions, including low light.

Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, a daily Japanese newspaper, reports that Sharp will begin manufacturing LCD panels for the Apple iPhone 5S in June at its Kameyama Plant No. 1 in Japan. Both Japan Display and LG Display are already mass producing the iPhone 5S display, the publication noted. The report falls in line with the WSJ who earlier claimed that the iPhone 5S production would begin sometime in the second quarter.

The June production schedule sits well with Apple CEO Tim Cook’s comments during his company’s most recent earnings call, in which he stated that Apple was planning to introduce “some amazing new hardware, software and services” in the autumn.

The report, however, contradicts with Reuters who recently claimed that mass-production of the iPhone 5S, which was supposed to begin in June, may slip due to fingerprint sensor. The publication said that the Cupertino company is still looking for the right coating material that did not interfere with the fingerprint sensor.

Fingerprint sensor located under the Home button is said to be the path breaking feature of the iPhone 5S – in addition to a 13-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a faster A7 chip.

There are many other factors which might delay the new iPhone to hit the retail stores in US and one of them is iOS 7 which is already running way behind the schedule because of overhaul. The iOS 7 will rock up a simpler and “flatter” design. Technically speaking, flat design is more efficacious to high-resolution screens. The Samsung Galaxy S4 packs 441 ppi (pixel per inch) and HTC One brags even more (at 469 ppi). However, iPhone 5 has just 326 ppi on a 4-inch screen. With a flatter iOS 7 design, Apple will try to pack more pixels per inch on a 4-inch iPhone 5S.

Apple will like push out a cheaper low-cost iPhone model alongside iPhone 5S release. The budget iPhone would be targeted at cost-conscious consumers seeking a less pricey smartphone, something akin to the mid-level Galaxy S devices.

Regarding its release, the iPhone 5S will not arrive anytime before 4-5 months. Most of the Apple enthusiasts believe Apple to launch the refreshed iPhone models in September-November timeframe.

Hey Apple! Get ready to have your toes stepped on. Samsung is reportedly prepping a new flagship smartphone with remarkable features and specifications that will impress the device enthusiasts, especially those who love high-quality photography. Rumors of a camera phone have been circulating for a while but this one seems to have taken a rather interesting turn. This new rumor has suggested that Samsung will be launching a new Galaxy smartphone – ‘Galaxy S4 Zoom’ this summer.

Per SamMobile sources, the Galaxy S4 Zoom phone will pack a 4.3 inch qHD SAMOLED display, a beastly 16 MP rear camera, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS and running Samsung Touch Wiz Nature UX on top of Android Jelly Bean OS. The phone will arrive with 8 GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64 GB via MicroSD). You’d need that when you have such monstrous cameras on your phone.

There is no clarity about its processor; it could be either a dual-core or quad-core, but it seems it is just a wild guess. Plausibly, Samsung engineers may develop two variants – one running on a Dual core processor, while the other would be powered by a quad-core running. Details are thin right now but we’ll definitely find out what Samsung has in store in the following weeks.

In terms of announcement and availability, the Galaxy S4 Zoom may be arriving sometime in June or July and will retail with the obligatory black and white color choices. The codename for Galaxy S4 Zoom is reportedly set as SM-C1010.

Until we actually see Galaxy S4 Zoom announced by Samsung, we suggest taking this piece of rumor as it is for now and not place your hopes for camera phone this summer.

Alleged photos of Motorola X Phone have leaked again and since they originate from a highly reputable source ‘@evleaks’, considered them as legitimate. The image shows the front as well as the back of the Motorola X device but not completely. The Moto X Phone is codenamed ‘Ghost’.

As evident in images, the phone appears to be placed inside a black non-disclosure case in order to avoid any possible leak. Normally company does so just to hide from the public during field testing. Interestingly, the Motorola X phone matches exactly to an earlier leaked photo shared by Taiwanese site tinhte.vn.

The rear side of the phone seems to have some sort of soft touch material but said to be made of polycarbonate. It doesn’t feature metal back or Motorola’s traditional Kevlar. The tracking label on the device carries a model name as ‘XFON ATT’, which confirms the device name. You can notice the AT&T logo along with the 4G LTE logo at the top of the screen. One of the images also shows the Motorola X Phone running stock Android OS.

The images partly confirms previous rumors such as the headphone jack centered on the top edge of the device, and the power and volume buttons on the right edge of the device.

According to phonearena’s sources the Motorola X Phone will be released on Verizon and AT&T, but it will support all major carriers as well. The branded ‘M’ logo available in the top left of the display has been made available only for prototype testing devices and is unlikely to appear on the final retailing model. Interestingly, the dashes and dots surrounding ‘M’ logo aren’t identical in all three photos. Plausibly, we are watching three different handsets or may be the logo is animated.

Other rumored specifications include – 4.7 inch display screen (1080p), 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM which make this sound like a high-end device.

Currently, there is no information regarding the Motorola XFON release date but according to their insider sources, device is still scheduled for release in early July.

Samsung Galaxy S4 and BlackBerry 10 series has been given security approval from the US Department of Defense, making Samsung the first Korean smartphone maker to do so.

The company itself confirmed to have officially obtained the Pentagon’s security approval and said it will receive a written certification sometime next week. The Korean company is now allowed to enter security-concerned defense agencies to find security-conscious customers in US.

Samsung CEO JK Shin also spoke about the approval and said – “We are very pleased to announce that the US Department of Defense has approved Samsung Knox enabled devices for use in DoD networks. This approval enables other government agencies and regulated industries such as health care and financial services to adopt Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets”.

Just a day back, BlackBerry’s latest handset and tablet series successfully passed the rigorous U.S. Department of Defense security requirements too. The defense agency approved BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry Q10 smartphones, including PlayBook tablets running on the latest operating system.

The new security approvals, however, won’t likely translate into big sales within Pentagon but other security-minded customers such as bankers, security-focused firms, and big corporate houses may feel comfortable using the Galaxy S4 smartphone.

The Pentagon currently has about 600,000 smartphone users and almost all are using BlackBerry smartphones. To be specific, 470000 of them uses BlackBerry, 41000 are using Apple, and 8700 are running on Google Android. But agencies aim to have as many as 8m smartphones and tablets, under the contract opened last November. A Pentagon spokesperson told Reuters:

We are pleased to add Blackberry 10 and the Samsung Knox version of Android to our family of mobile devices supporting the Department of Defense. We look forward to additional vendors also participating in this process.

Apple devices have yet to get the green light.

Digitimes reports that in order to test market response, Apple will initially ship 2.5 to 3.0 million units (in its first quarter) of lower cost iPhone in emerging markets such as China and India.

On specifications, the Taiwanese publication, citing anonymous sources, claims the low-cost iPhone to pack a 4-inch LTPS LCD panel (Low Temperature PolySilicon LCD) powered by an A6 processor. LTPS LCD displays are considered as faster, denser and more integrated than screens made with amorphous silicon substrates. These high end LCD displays can achieve densities of 200 dpi and more and are apt to address the rapidly growing small-size high-end LCD display market.

The sources further re-affirmed that the budget version of iPhone will adopt plastic chassis to bring down its price which matches with the WSJ report that the affordable iPhone model will have a 4-inch display with a plastic casing at the back. Many other reports have surfaced in past indicating Apple testing “different color shells” for the budget iPhone but is unclear whether those will make it to the final design.

Digitimes additionally pointed that majority of the affordable handset will be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron.

It is widely believed Apple to launch both the iPhone 5S and a lower-priced iPhone starting early September but it’s still not clear, though, when exactly will it launch. iOS 7 being overhauled, it is hard to believe the next generation devices to appear during WWDC in June.
